The London Improvisors Orchestra has been playing together for nearly 30 years. The orchestra explores the possibilities of free improvisation by a large ensemble, using the 'conduction' technique pioneered by the American Butch Morris: the ensemble responds collectively to the signals and gestures of a conductor, a role played by different members of the orchestra in turn.
